Event Summary
Thanks a lot to Expo Park for the facilities, and for all kids and parents for joining, working together and helping out each-other. It was a true joy to see so many happy faces!

ご持参するパソコンにscratch.mit.edu/scratch_1.4より「スクラッチ」ソフトを、事前にインストールしておいて下さい。 (お貸し出来るパソコンは今年あまりありませんが、どうしても、ご持参できない場合、事前にご連絡下さい。) 他： 水筒、帽子、汚れていい洋服 Please bring your notebook PC with Scratch installed (version 1.4) (Unfortunately, we have only very few PCs to lend this year.) Don't forget: Water bootle, sun hat, rugged clothes and sturdy shoes |

場所代として１家族に500円頂きます。公園の入場券は大人250円、子供70円です。 500 Yen per family (to share room rent). Park entry is 250 Yen for adults and 70 for kids. |

※ 弟妹など若い子は、iPadお持ちのかたは、ScratchJRというアップリを入れれば、幼稚園生でも、より簡単なプログラミングに挑戦できます。親指導でお願いします。スクラッチ自体はiPadで動きません、パソコンが必要です。高校生いれば、スクラッチに参加して、より複雑な作品を挑戦して下さい。
If you have an iPad, feel fee to download the ScratchJR for any younger siblings. Scratch itself does not run on iPad, it requires a regular computer. High school students are welcome to try Scratch, but cannot compete in the hackathon.

| 12:45 | オニギリやお弁当を持ってきて、万博公園の美しい自然のなかでお昼を食べることをおすすめします。近くに売店はありません。12:45ぐらいに自然観察学習館の前に集まって下さい。 | Feel free to bring lunch and have picknick anywhere in the beautiful Expo Park. We will gather in front of the Nature Observation Center around 12:45. |
| 13:00 | 自然観察館の前で、プログラミングの基本説明を受けます。どのようなプログラムを作るか、皆自分で考えましょう。 経験者は、どのようゲームを作りたいか想像して、簡単に紙に描くことをおすすめします。90分で出来上がるよう、ゲームを複雑すぎないようにしましょう。 |
Easy introduction to programming for kids, in front of the Nature Observation Center. Start thinking about what you want to program, and make a plan! Recommendation for advanced scratchers: Use the time to plan your program, and write a story board. Keep it simple, you need to program it in 90 minutes! |
| 13:30 | 中に入って、パソコンを立ち上げて、プログラミングに取り組みましょう。一人ひとりでやって良い、二人でひとつのパソコンを使ってチームを組んでも良い。90分で仕上げましょう。 | Go inside and boot your computer. You have 90 minutes to program your own game on Scratch. Do it by yourself or make a group of two. It's up to you. Don't hesitate to ask organizers for help. |
| 15:00 | 作品を発表します。経験者から発表してもらい、優勝を決めます。審判は子供たち全員です。ハッカトンの優勝賞の賞品は、皆で遊ぶことができるゲームです。時間が許せば、初心者の作品も皆に見てもらいます。 | Show your work! All the kids pick the hackathon winner among the advanced programmers. If time allows, we would also like to see what the beginners made. |
| 15:25 | 子供たちは外に出て遊びましょう。（滑ったり濡れたりすることもあるかもしれません）。保護者の方は、3時半までの部屋の片付けに、ご協力お願いします。 | The prize for the hackathon is a game that everybody can play. So go back outside and find the treasure! Parents, please help clean up the room by 15.30. |
| 16:00 | ４時までにはイベントは終了し、解散します。公園は５時まで開いていますので、もう少し残って他の子と遊んでもいいですよ。 | Scratch Day is over, but feel free to hang around and let the kids play. The park closes at 5 pm. |
最後に一言：
人間の血の中にNK細胞という免疫細胞があります。NK細胞は癌細胞をやつけます。笑うと、NK細胞が増える。皆様の長生きの為に、楽しくやってみましょう。（藤田紘一郎先生の発見）
